to add a new disk

add it
fdisk /dev/sda (for first scsi disk)
 create your partitions using file system type 83
 write it to disk and exit
reboot

login in X as root
control-panel
 choose the file-system panel
 format the new partitions
 double click them to add a mount point (and make it if needed)
 click on mount
exit
